Tonight I had the pleasure of being one of the first people in the US to see the new T-Mobile MDA IV (Pro). Normally I don't "review" technology, but this phone was really impressive. Straight off the boat from Germany, this smartphone has a great feature set: Bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixel camera, Swivel Screen, QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, a digital camera for video calls. It is also one of the first phones on the market to sport the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.
As far as size is concerned it is a bit big for your pocket (a little wider than a Dell Axim), but I am told it is good for business users that can stash it in their briefcases.
I think the coolest feature is that with a simple flip and twist of the screen it goes from a handheld QWERTY input style device to a PDA with traditional stylus input with the ability to handle video conferencing calls. Very Cool.
The price for all this technology? A cool $1,100.
Thanks to my friends at ImportGSM.com for the preview. Check out the full spec sheet here.
