VU Class of 2005

With the passing of last weekend, I have entered the ranks of Villanova Alumni. While I have greately appreciated my time as an undergraduate, I look forward to what lies ahead of me.
Starting July 5th I will be joining the team of the Off Campus Dining Network as Manager of Finance and IT. I am extremely pleased with my opportunity here because it is an early-stage company with huge potential for expansion. I think I will learn alot at OCDN.
While working for OCDN in King of Prussia, PA I will be adjusting to life after college. I do have a few pet projects:
1. Get my real estate license2. Stay involved with the StartUp Challenge.3. Reconnect with some of my favorite outdoor activities: camping, golfing, snowboarding. It is unfortunate that I have lost touch with some of these activities during my time in college.4. Keep up with friends through weekend trips to various west coast, east coast and gulf coast cities.

A New Breed of Entrepreneur

I was doing a little perusing of youngentrepreneur.com and I found a post in the fourms section that has summed up all of my feelings about Kiyosaki devotees. "Jet Jackson" has summed it up. Please find it below:
Entrepreneur, an amazing wordIt seems however that it has developed somewhat of an association with people who seek some sort of rebellion. That is they call themselves entrepreneurs, armed with Robert Kiyosaki mantras they protest against anyone that may suggest they are a normal person. Unlike the majority who are stupid, the people who work the "9-5 Grind", the people who just go through the same old school, marriage, job, kids lifestyle these 'Entrepreneurs' are different, they think differently, they are original. They denounce education saying that even a high school dropout can become rich. Increase your financial knowledge, learn about money, become rich so you can spend money, drive nice cars and never have to work again. Create a 'passive income' so you arent controlled by money anymore. If your lifes goal is to be a billionaire, aren't you in a sense controlled by money in order to reach that goal?If you cant get along with your boss, and you want to 'be your own boss', how do you plan on listening to your customers when they tell you what they want? Are you going to say "No, you cannot have that product in that colour, I'm the boss around here and I'll decide what you will buy"If you dont like the "9-5 grind" then why not try the "24-7 grind", because thats what the real business starter does. Sure its their idea and they have ownership, but there is still accounting, there is still legals, customers, complaints, people who are less flexible than the boss you still seem to believe that you were subordinate to.' Someone who really had a true entrepreneurial mind frame doesnt see a person as a boss, they dont want to be their own boss... There is no such thing in their world... If they were in a 9-5 Grind job, their boss would be their customer, their labour would be their product and they would negotiate the best price possible. Real entrepreneurs dont want to finish working and retire when they are 30 so they can do the things they want to do.. Real entrepreneurs are already doing what they want to do, that is taking their idea and making it happen, creating value for humanity, initiating change... money is just a perk...It frustrates me that these people chant Kiyosaki mantras and claim that they are entrepreneurs, different to everyone else... Well they are different to everyone else including Entrepreneurs and Im fed up with it quite frankly... so tonight I am going to give these people a new name, as they want to be so different, I shall call them.. KIYOSAKIANS!!
At least now, this great post will be able to be put into the Google idex.
